PUMP BARREL APPLICATIONS
Hardened & Precision Honed: This barrel is recommended for medium abrasion and mild corrosion. The ID is carborized to a hardness of 58-63Rc and finish honed to size.
Steel - Chrome Plated: Recommended for severe abrasion and mild corrosion. The ID of this barrel has a hardness of 70 Rc.
501 Stainless - Chrome Plated: Recommended for severe abrasion, severe salt water corrosion and mild hydrogen sulfide conditions.
Brass - Chrome Plated: Recommended for severe abrasion, salt water brine and mild hydrogen sulfide. This barrel also has a hardness of 70Rc.
Brass - Precision Honed: Recommended for corrosive conditions where there is no abrasion. This barrel has a hardness of 34Rc.
Steel - Nicarb: Recommended for abrasive conditions with moderate salt water and hydrogen sulfide present. Not as corrosion resistant as the Brass - Carbide barrel.
Brass – Nicarb: Recommended for severe abrasion and severely corrosive conditions. The silicon carbide particles form a tough, low friction matrix that is not porous and therefore, will not lift or flake away from the base metal the way chrome does. The hardness of the matrix surpasses that of chrome plate and is the best we can offer for the most abrasive and corrosive conditions.
